Hello Everyone,
Hope you all had a good summer despite the weather and you are looking forward to the NIPG meeting up again.
We have been busy manning tables at the Making Festival in Cultra and the Quilt Fayre in Stormont.
Thanks must go to those who volunteered to help with these events. Congratulations to Sandra, Patricia and Jan who were winners in the Stitches of Life competition. [The banner above is part of Sandra’s submission].
Ella has worked extremely hard at getting our programme together, which can be found here: https://northernirelandpatchworkguild.com/118-2/107-2/
Marjorie has our membership cards ready for the first meeting.
Membership remains at £25 for the year. Workshops will be £15 plus any expenses from the tutor for materials etc.
It would be helpful if you could renew your membership prior to the meeting itself. You’ll find the details here: Membership 2024 – 2025
Our first 2 meetings will be in the Scout Hall, Crawfordsburn Country Park
The first meeting is being taken by Olive Byers and Susan Beacom. All the information about the change of venue from our usual hall in Cultra can be found here:
We raised £1446.50 for Dementia NI
Wendy and I went to the office of Dementia NI today and delivered the cheque to Jacqui, the money being raised by the donations of our members through the beautiful quilt ballot, the charity table, the monthly ballot, Christmas card sales and generosity of people. Thank you everyone.
We also donated 15 of the Twiddle Quilts to Debbie for patients she works with through Dementia Services.

The charity chosen for 2024-25 is Myeloma UK.
The Christmas Challenge is based on the work we saw by Andrea Hayes in May. An A4 or smaller landscape/seascape, using any medium you chose – paint, wool, thread etc. providing there issome stitching on it.
A small group of members are meeting on FRIDAY 6th September at Cultra at 1015-1230 to meet and greet American visitors, have refreshments, do a small hand sewing task, and hear Valerie Wilson speak. I have 12 names and should anyone wish to join us please email me directly to esmebilly@yahoo.co.uk Margaret Lee from Quilt Fayre is organising this morning.
Finally! Don’t forget your cup. Correct cash / cheque for membership and workshops in October and November.
Hope to see you Saturday 7th September.
