Loretta O’Brien “HWG ÉÓS”
A fascination with energy and the right use of light and energy encouraged me to look at images of Europe from space. The urbanisation of the world is demonstrated by the number of lights clustered together. Europe being the brightest part of the night time world. This I tried to demonstrate in the quilt using beads and sequins.
The electrically charged particles of the Aurora Borealis is almost like a crown on the top of the world. The colour of the Aurora reflects on to the ice changing the colour.
